“Teach?”
“Hey, teach?”
“Oi! Stevens! Professor Stevens!”
Stevens broke out of his pace, shook his head, and glanced over at his student.
“Ah, y-yes Cal?”
“Do you know what was wrong with it? I can’t tell why my answer deviated from the key.”
“Yes, your uh, problem… problem number…”
“I was just wondering about this week’s P-Set. What was the answer with number 4? I tried reticulating the splines, but they ended up just being 6 instead of 33.” Stevens blinked at the student, mumbling “problem 4, problem 4…” He perked back up, and properly replied. “Ah, 33? You might have missed the quenching step.”
“I, uh, I tried that. There wasn’t any quenching or polymerization in the answer key, for that matter.”
“Wh- hm…”
Stevens walked around the table, slowly sinking into thought. “Well, the carboxyl group must have been in a closure, or…”
“Teach?”
